Note that the temple is an old temple and exhibits the refined medieval Indian architectural style. The temple has five levels containing idols of Lord Shiva, Parvati, Ganesha, Kartikeya, and Nandi. It remains open for a visit everyday across the year. There is hardly any time when the temple is not busy with the devotees and tourists. Visiting the city during this mela is perhaps the best time for a tour of the city. The magical religious milieu simply engulfs one within the city.

The city is filled with attractions; the most prominent ones include: Kal Bhairava, Chintaman Ganesh Temple, Jantar Mantar, Bhartrihari Caves, Ram Mandir Ghat, Gomti Kund, ISKCON Temple, Mangalnath, Sandipani Ashram, Harsiddhi Temple, Gopal Mandir, Baikunth DHam Temple, Yantra Mahal, Gopal Mandir, and Jain Digambar Sangrahalaya. The good thing is that all these temples and tourist attractions are easily accessible. One can get cabs and taxis from the city’s commerce centre, where also exist the most number of budget hotels in Ujjain.
